Holiday Activity
Along with everything else, I managed to work some in the studio. How I like that word. I feel like an artist!!!! Some thread doodling! Also designed two small seabird pieces - enjoying the drawing of birds, and even freehand cutting birds out of fabric! Never thought I could draw or cut freehand in the past. Practicing sure helps the process. I have a long way to go before calling myself a drawer or papercutter but I'm heading in the right direction!
Hapy Holidays!

whether you have a "long way to go" or not -- I knew exactly what you were depicting, which means your drawings are doing what they are intended to do :-)
Have a great holiday
Is your "doodling" totally free hand or do you draw guides on the fabric? I have to "write" on a quilt soon and need to figure out how to do that.
Swooze, I free hand - what I call free motion stitching. I just go for it. Of course, I must spell correctly - the frog stitch - rip it, rip it - can be difficult if I mess up. I do write my words down on paper first to help with the spelling.
I have in the past did a mock up the the area to be stitched and do the writing so I have an idea of how large/small the writing needs to be.
Hope that helps.
